Jacob Black is a Quileute werewolf, he is 15 at the begining of the series, and is a childhood friend of Bella. Although he is extremely kind and caring in Twilight and the first half of New Moon, after he gains his shpaeshifting powers he bocomes aggresive to Edward, and over-protective of Bella.
